Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: bright lights come on, car lights, bright lights

Question
I have a 98 Olds Intrique and when it is cold outside and I start my car my bright lights come on (my car lights automoatically come on when it is dark DRL I think is what it is called) and then when the car warms up they go off do you know what the problem could be - I've been told it is the choke and someone else told me something different so i am asking an expert and hoping to get some help as to what to do to fix the problem
