Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 1998 buick riivera, cv joints, power steering pump

Question
ok...I have a bad vibration/shudder when turning on dry pavment.  Have read TSB's.  Some say check rear tranny mount..done...another says power steering lines too small? havent tried that yet?  i have had front end checked, no excessive play.  Replaced both front hubs with GM hubs. Could it be rack?  it's not visibly leaking?  could it be cv joints beginning to sieze? they seem ok?  please advise

also, since i replaced both front hubs..still have abs/trac light on occasionally...could it be EBTCM? rear hub?

thanks,

Answer
Hello Trevor,
A couple opinions from me.
Steering lines too small....I don't think so, but if you actually have a TSB about it, then it is possible.
CV Joints....No.

If that car has rack and pinion steering, a shudder is possible from there if it needs to work too hard, but I would make sure the tire pressure is checked. Air them to the high side of the recommended pressure.

Am I correct to assume it only happens on dry pavement when sitting still?
If so, it is probably even worse when the brakes are applied.

One other thing on that....make sure the power steering pump belt is tight, and in good shape.

The trac light....make sure all the tires are the same size, and approximately evenly worn, ie not one new tire, and three worn ones.
And tire pressure differences could make a difference there also.
