Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Car Radio, oldsmobile 88, salvage yard

Question
Thanx for your reply, i really appreaciate it... I want to fix it myself since im under a tight budget, what is exactly wat i need to do? i checked the fuses and they are fine but i dont have the owners manual so im not sure that it does have a Delco Lok II. Is there anyway that u can tell me this code or if it does have it, so i can do this myself?

i have a 1992 Oldsmobile 88 Royale and my factory radio isnt working... nothing turns on not even the time display, it was working properly then it wasnt i dont know wat i did wrong to it... but i really need ur help...

Hello Viktor,
First check the fuses, and then look in the owners manual to see if it has Delco Lok II.
That was a system to reduce theft of radios and stereos that would render them unusable if they were disconnected from power without punching in a code.
That is what needs to be done when changing the battery etc.
A dealership can reprogram it.

Answer
Hello Viktor,
I would bet you do have it, and if they had just a code that someone could give to people who had radios that wouldn't work, it would defeat the whole purpose of the system, since the thieves would just call and ask for the code also.
You really need to talk to a dealership.

Another thought would be to talk to a salvage yard. If anyone besides a dealer would know....they would.
