Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Acceleration Problem, olds achieva, highway speeds

Question
Hello, I have a 98 Olds Achieva, with which I am experiencing a problem when acceleration at highway speeds only.  The longer the trip, the higher the frequency of the problem.  The sound and bumpiness that I'm noticing is very similar to what you would experience if you were accidentally driving off of the highway where the pavement is cut so that you hear a loud noise/your car shakes.  I just got new tires a few months ago if that makes any difference.  Sorry if my description is bad--you know how women are!

I appreciate any advice you can give me--I like to have several opinions before I bring my car to a mechanic.

Thank you!

Answer
It is very possible that your tires could be out of balance and or you have a problem with one of the tires as it could have a flaw in the tire when it was made.

I would suggest that you have the tires re-balanced and tell the facility of the problem you have.
