Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Antenna motor conme on after shutting engine off, olds aurora, radio antenna

I have a 95 Olds Aurora.  The antenna motor comes on a minute or so after the engine is shut off and runs for a couple of minutes before shutting off.  Then it will come on 5-10 minutes later and run for a few minutes.  I pulled the fuse so the battery would not drain down.  The antenna does not go up and down during any of this, just the motor runs.  Is there a relay or something that is defective?  I unplugged the wire harness at the antenna in the trunk but that had no effect on the motor running.

Hi Ken,
The antenna is supposed to go down after the engine is shut off.
If it isn't moving, the drive cable inside must be broken.
That could cause the sensor to not be able to tell the antenna is down, and keep trying.
The large black radio antenna wire isn't the one that needs unplugged. You need to find the power wire to the motor, and unhook it.
