Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 1996 Olds Transmission, reman, olds ciera

thank you for your time first off .. i have a 1996 olds ciera V6 with lil over 115K on her anyway today i noticed a little give in the transmission , it's an auto of course but felt like the clutch "in a manual" was going out RPM's will climb but speed drops then the transmission would catch and tires would chirp launching me forward only to do it again in a few feet .. this happend even in 1st and 2nd which is how i manage to get home .. i'm at a loss on what the problem might be so any help is greatly apreciated .. thank you

hi cody.and you are welcome.unfortuneately i have bad news.the forward clutch assy is going out in your transmission.the cheapest repair is to find a used one and put it in or find a reputable garage to change it.or a reman in which case you will be up there around 1500 to 1800.you should be able to buy a good used one for 3 or 4oo and get it installed for around 400 labor.find a reputable used parts dealer.i wish i could tell you better news but let,s face it ,no sense sugarcoating it you got a bad trans .good luck please take a min of your time to rate my help.ty billymac
