Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 96 dodge Intrepid, dodge intrepid, bad water

Question
Pete,
I have a 96 Intrepid that is overheating. we first changed the thermistat.then we realized the the fan wasnt kicking on so jumped the fuse under the hood. is started so we replaced the square fuse, that seemed to work about a week, then friday it overheated again. the fan didnt kick on again. so we wired the fan direct to battery to make sure the fan was working, it does. so now what do I check next? someone mentioned the water pump but the water is moving so really didnt think it was that. give me your advise Please.
                          Thanks Misslissa

Answer
hello hun
this could be a bad water pump or pluged rad. or a badhead gasket . I would have it checked out in a shop they will not charge to to check it and then you can make the repair . if the fan is runing then it is good . the fan relay is bad it is by the bat. and it is the center relay pete
