Plymouth Repair: 95 Ply Grand Voy, lind wa, aluminum barrel

Question
Okay, you ready for this?

First:  We have a local, second-hand, dealership we bought our vans from and can't bring ourselves to go to them again due to their lack of interest in our needs and dependability.
Second:  We've had several things go wrong with this van, no surprise...she is old and tired...over 170,000 miles-she's a keeper though.
Third:  The heater isn't putting out like it should and it takes 15-20 minutes for it to heat up when sitting still before warm air comes OR 10-15 minutes of driving.
Fourth:  Every time I try to replace the fuse for the horn, it arcs and snaps (burns out) half-way into the recepticle.
Fifth:  Within the last day or two, every time my husband or I drive the van, there is an irregular "popping" sound coming from underneath the frame...he and I have NEVER heard this noise before on any vehicle...we use to work on/tink around with Mustangs and Cameros in our younger days, even racing and the like.  Anyhow, the best way I can describe this sound:  imagine a large, aluminum barrel...about 3 1/2 to 4 ft. high, and lightly bouncing a kid's small rubber ball...as it rolls and bounces a little, it hits the side of this barrel.  This sound does not repeat itself in a regular fashion, nor does it use a character with turning, speeding up, slowing down, hopping a curb...NOTHIN'.
SIXTH:  THE KICKER...Every month we take a trip to meet the X for pick up and drop off of two of the four kids we have...we drive to Lind, WA, from Spokane, WA, and back.  On our way back last night, from Lind, WA right outside of Ritzville (abt 1 1/2 mi.), the steering wheel starts to violently shake--not shimmy, and the front end starts to rock back and forth, as if I have a flat tire.  No flat.  I go a little further, after I hit 25 mph, it starts again.  Hubby checks for a flat, nothing.  We turn around, park, and call for friends to get us and a tow truck.  (I am ready to scrap this thing by now.)  $267 for a tow...money we don't have but are going to pay back our pastor and his wife.  This morning, we call a mechanic friend of ours, he comes to take a look and can't see anything wrong.  Takes it for a drive...nothing.  Right now, as I type this to you, this guy is driving the van around town...WHAT THE HECK!

HELP!

(It is okay if you would like to post this.)
