Plymouth Repair: Wont Always Shift Into Gear 1998 Grand Caravan, grand caravan, dollors

Hello,

In the past only on rare occasion, my 1998 Grand Caravan would not "engage" into gear when attempting to put it in drive. This past week, (during sub-zero weather) the problem has gotten markedly worse. Yesterday it took me 6 attempts to get the car into reverse, then same problem with drive. It finally does engage, but then once when I was driving it actually *slipped* out of gear and the car stopped accellerating. (!)The gear shift lever moves easily, but just doesn't always engage in the proper gear.

Needless to say, now I am hesitant to drive it. I owe more on this van than it's worth. I'm wondering what you think about repair...

this is a linkage adj. or cable adj.A Tranny shop would charge no more than 50 dollors to do this service not a bad price . the tranny is ok. Good luck to you hun and u have a pretty name please rate my service and if you need further help let me know pete
