Plymouth Repair: 1997 Plmouth Breeze, senser, oil level

Question
I have known for a while that my wifes' engine has a leak.  We are hoping that it is not a rear main seal as we were told that that can be quite expensive on the labor.  However what I am noticing now is that the oil level is fine, but the oil lamp is going on when we brake and come to stop.  As soon as I hit the gas and drive, it goes off.  Any idea what this is indicative of?

Answer
hello john
make sure you keep watch on the oil . a rear main seal is 300 to 500 in my shop . as long as the light goes out it could be the idile and that would be the idile controll senser is going bad or bad oil sender switch .
