Plymouth Repair: transmission shifting, plymouth voyager, free diagnostic test

i have a 1995 plymouth voyager minivan, with a 3.0 eng. automatic. my questionis, it does not shift up at all. i have forward and reverse, but when i drive it it does not shift up.i can go 50 mph, but it makes a loud humming noise.the speedometer doesn't work.i just bought the van from a private owner, and they told me nothing about it.thank you barbara coville

so sorry they did not tell you about this tranny problem . it could be simpile just a shift senser . I would bring it to a tranny shop . Most trannys shops will do a free diagnostic test to see what is the problem . a shift senser would be a 100 dollors installed . it is common in mopar cars .
