Plymouth Repair: 1984 plymouth voyager, deg btdc, plymouth voyager

I have a 1984 plymouth voyager no matter where I set the timing I can't seem to get it right. I disconected the vacum line going to the comp. and pluged it set the timing at 10 deg btdc and it starts good ,but no pep ,so I adv. the timing gets a little pep but hard to turn over when warm,it is a 2.2 with 78 thousand miles,can you help?

what was the problem before you started how was the power at this time ? how is the comprosen ? i just had a 2.2 went threw the whole car before i did it and found bad comprosen and thire was no power a turtle good of beat this car I would in your case try playing with the cam one notch toward fire wall . it sounds like you are doing everything right . But they are a hard car to time . please let me know you make out pete
