Pontiac Repair: 2000 Pontiac Sunfire. Two issues., jumper wire, auto parts stores

Question
I bought a 2000 Sunfire back in March, and in the beginning, it only had slight issues, but they've gotten considerably worse. The biggest issue is this constant knocking sound coming from the trunk area. It's not just going over bumps either. Seems to come from both sides. It's most noticeable when I'm driving between 30 and 50 km/h. I don't think it's the bearings, as I raised the rear end and tried the usual method to see if there's an issue with the bearings. Everything seemed fine. If I pull the car upwards in either rear wheel well, it makes that same knocking noise.

The other issue is with some lights on the dashboard. The Service, ABS and TC lights come on every time I start my car. At first, it was maybe one of every five times I ran it, and they would occasionally come on during the drive, now they're on constantly. I have absolutely no clue what the issue could be.

Don't really have money to go to a mechanic right now, so I'm hoping I can figure this out with your help. Thanks!

Note: I bought the car at ~221,500. It's now at ~224,500. These are kilometers, not miles.

Answer
Hi Trevor:

sounds like you need upper shock mounts for the noise in the rear pretty common for those cars. stop by one of the big box auto parts stores and they will scan the car for codes. chances are it has a wheel spped sensor code if it's a code for a rear wheel it more then likely will need a hub assembly. if it's a code for a front sensor it may just be the jumper wire harness going to the sensor. good luck :-)
