Pontiac Repair: Sound not working on 2005 Pontiac Montana entertainment unit, ac delco, pontiac montana

Question
The sound is no longer working on radio cd or DVD player there is power at unit. I accidentally spilled coffee and I'm sure that may have something to do with it. All fuses seem to be fine, are there any fuses behind console that control my speakers what could I do it's driving me crazy it was playing fine for about an hour after  I spilled the coffee. Also the led lights have been out on unit for about a month.

Answer
Hi Dale:

No there are no fuses behind the radio Pretty much if that is what happened to it It's bad now. We don not fix radios at the dealership level we send out for exchange units from a reman facility in Syracuse NY. You can get one from a junk yard make sure it is from the same year Van and make sure the Part # on the radio tag matches. If the part # is not the same the radio is not the same. They look the same but the interbal workings are different. You may need to get the radio unlocked when you swap it out any GM dealer can set up the replacement radio or an AC delco repair facility that has a GM scan tool to set up the new radio you install. good luck :-)
