Pontiac Repair: 2002 Pontiac Montana Shakes, sway bar bushing, pontiac montana

Question
I have a Pontiac Montana 2002. We have replaced tires and had the front end lined out. about 8 months ago because we felt a slight shake. Now the shake has gone nuts!!1 At 45 is the worst, if you let off gas it stops if you gun its not as bad. We replaced motor mounts, transmission mounts, driver side transaxle and tyrod. It has helped but it is still doing it pretty bad. You don't feel it in the steering wheel but it is about to shake my passenger seat out the door. It has broke a pully with its shaking and I think it is what damaged the mounts. We have sunk alot of money into this and don't want to keep guessing. The tire are fairly new and has been lined out, the shake hasn't been as severe since we replaced everything but now the sway bar bushing is broke and we think it caused it too. What can be causing this shaking?

Answer
Hi sarah

if you feel it all the way up though the speeds and it doesn't go away or lesten I would suspect possably the other side axle shaft is bad??? It's just a guess though with out feeling it or seeing it. I would have the tires road force balanced. it it has an issue with a shifted belt it will show up on a road force balance. if it has a bent rim it will show up on a road force balance. Not much else goes wrong with these units. An axle is odd on these But I have seen it. was the shake there beofe you replaced the left side axle shaft? or did it crop up after it was replaced? How about a wheel bearing? is it just a feeling/sensation or can you hear it too? if you can hear it I would look towards a wheel bearing issue. Good luck :-}
