Pontiac Repair: 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix SE door latch, pontiac grand prix, door latch

I've got a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 4dr, The driver side door latch sticks and will not open from the outside at times. I've replaced the locks at my daughters request but the car still needs a new door latch asm on the driver side front door.( I told her this b4 she insisted dad was wrong. anyway) I have looked everyplace I can think of for this part and all I can find for the 94 model goes to the pass side. What I need to know is what year, makes and models will work in place of the exact match for the 94?

Well I'm Not a parts guy I just fix 'em. My Guess would be 92-94 would pretty much be the same 95 and up the body changed a bit so that may not work. You dealing with a 18 year old car now so parts are scarce. If you stop by a dealership and have them look up the exact part you need for that year they can run the part on a national locator and there will be delaers around the countryt that may still have it and have been sitting on it an will be willing to sell it at a discount to you. I do it for my cars all the time. You would be surprised at the deals you can find especially with all the GM delaerships that have closed a lot of dealers snapped up the cloed dealers stock and they get stuck with some clunker parts to go along with the parts they can sell. so give that a try. good luck :)
