Pontiac Repair: Defective gauges, chevron techron fuel system, gas gauge

Question
I have a 96 Grand Am SE, the car is not driven much, recently started driving it and the gauges are spinning and now not working all together. So I don't know how fast I'm going, if I have gas or how warm the engine is.  The speedometer is stuck at 120 mph and the gas gauge is on empty. Any suggestions?  Also it hard to start sometimes.

Answer
Hi there:

are just the gauges in op? are all the warning lamps stuck on also? if not do they come on at a bulb check and then go out? if the rest of the dash works normally then I would venture to "guess" the gauges are just bad in the dash. As for the hard start it can be a lot of things has it just started since the cooler weather set in? If so I would try a different brand of gas. chnage the fuel filter clean the throttle plate and throttle body. Lastly try a bottle or 2 of Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner. Good luck :)
