Pontiac Repair: 2002 aztek, head lamps, back lighting

Question
Hello,
the bulb/light to the check engine in the dash is out as well as the traction control light.
on the computer it codes MIL, malfunction lamp light.
I need to replace it or it will not pass inspection.
my question is: is there an easier way to replace this than taking the whole dashboard apart?
also, would you know the part itself?
thank you for your assistance.

Answer
Hi there:

This is not a do it your self job. The lamps in the newer IPC are not bulbs they are LED's so they are not replaceable even the back lighting with the head lamps are led's. You need to get out out of a junk yard if they will sell one but it has to be from the same year and same brake options your Aztek has OR get a remnaufactured unit from the dealership but that has to be set up with a scan tool to match the van same thing with one from the junk yard. They don't make it easy these days sorry. We don't fix them we just order replacment units. Good luck :)
