Pontiac Repair: oil pressure sensor, pipe thread sealant, size nut

Where is the oil pressure sensor located on a 2001 Bonneville with 3800 engine?  I am unable to locate on block in area of oil filter.

Hi James.

Yes the oil pressure sensor is located on the back side of the engine just above the oil filter it faces the fire wall. it has just 1 connector on it. It's a rather large size nut on it likr 1" or 1 1/8" in size. If you have a big pair of channel locks you can get on it and take it off that way as well. It' not threaded in there that tight. it' a pipe plug thread that is tapered. when you replace it make sure you put pipe thread sealant on the threads. Good luck :)
