Pontiac Repair: front brake replacement, brake pads and rotors, brake hose

Question
I changed the front brake pads and rotors , when I finished I took the car for test drive and noticed the drivers side rotor was giving off a huge amount of heat and it had a burning smell. The right side seems perfect no heat or smell and rotor still shiny drivers side rotor looks bluish

Answer
Hi John:

well the side that got really hot is hanging up and dragging. Possably you have the brake hose twisted when you put it back on the car or when you pushed the piston back into the caliper it hung up in the caliper bore. What model car is this if the caliper is of the 2 piece design where the caliper is one piece and the brisdge where the pads ride is another piece it's possable that the pins in the caliper bridge are seized up. It has to be one of the above things but with out seeing it I can't tell you for sure.
