Pontiac Repair: ABS & Trac off lights on &/whinning, pontiac grand prix, pontiac grand prix gt

Question
I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT 3800 II series with 190,000 miles (& running STRONG!) the ABS & TRAC off light's are on the majority of the time & now there is a loud whinning sound. It sounds like it's in the front passanger area. First I heard it when I turned Rt., then it began on Lft. turns, now it's heard whiling driving straight. Recently I had all 4 brakes done, (a little to late!) apparently the front passenger brake pad had come off the brake & the sheetmental wasted my rotor & caliper! All fixed 2 weeks ago! So, HELP!  What the heck did I do to my baby?

Answer
Hi Rochelle:

more then likely this needs at least 1 front wheel bearing. The right side where the noise is comming from is the culprit if the bearing is loose in the hub it will throe the anti-lock wheel spped sensor off for that side the hub bearing and sensor are in 1 assembly on that car. the fact that it was only making the nose in 1 direction would indicate just 1 bearing is bad being that it does it on both turns would make me belive that possibly bot front ones are bad??? It could just be that the one is so bad and loose that it's doing it on both turns now. Good luck :)
