Pontiac Repair: 1997 Pontiac Sunfire, have trouble codes, PLS HELP!, 1997 pontiac sunfire, pontiac sunfire

Question
Okay, so I have been having quite the trouble with my '97 Sunfire. It is a 2.4 L manual transmission. When you press on the accelerator, the car bogs down, or hesitates. But when you press in the clutch and rev it up it will start to drive. (Almost like it is not getting enough gas) It also has a rough idle, the engine slightly shakes. I have the diagnostic code and it is P0132. O2 sensor Circuit High Voltage. I have replaced BOTH O2 sensors. I have also replaced these parts because we thought that they were causing the problem. I've replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, temp coolant sensor, cap, and I have ran fuel injector cleaner through my gas tank. But I am STILL having a problem. Sometimes, the check engine light will go off for a few days, then come on for a few days, vice versa. The car doesn't ALWAYS hesitate upon acceleration. What would cause the O2 sensors to keep throwing a code? We have replaced both of them. Why is it showing High Voltage?

Thanks! :)

Answer
Hi Kendra:

If you live in the rust belt like I do ther is a chance that the issue is with the engine control module and not the sensors. There was a recall for this car for a corrosion condition at the ECM. call your locak GM dealewr give them the VIN# and ask them if the recall has been done or not if your not the original owner you wouldn't know if it was done or not. In severe conditions the ECM needs to be replaced and or wiring repaierd at the ECM that would be covered under the recall if it hasn'r been done. I would start they before you dump any more $ into this guessing at what the issue is.. If it has been done then what you need is a actaul scan tool to see what the engien data stream is doing for the 2 O2 sensors.. Good luck :)
