QUESTION: I called a service station and asked about the price of the repair for the ignition switch and when I told the service man it was for wipers that would not shut off, only when you shut the car off the wipers will shut off, he said that the ignition switch does not have to do with wipers, but he said that there is a multifuntion switch that works the wipers. So my question is it the ignition switch that would need to be replaced or did you mean multifunction switch? Does my car even have both? I really appreciate your help since I no nothing about cars thank you and I was told that these switches cost $400.

Answer
the multi function switch would have to be tested when the wipers do not shut off to see if it is not getting a signal from the wiper switch.  if it is getting a signal then there is an issue somewhere else in the power management of that system that is causing the wipers to stay on, ie ignition switch
