Pontiac Repair: check engine water level light., grand prix gtp, pontiac grand prix gtp

Question
I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and I cannot get the check light for the engine water level to go out. Mechanic at my local dealership says he doesn't know why. LOL He also says it will coast too much to investigate it. I took it to a local private shop and was told the same thing. The light drives me nuts when I'm driving. How do I fix this?

Answer
Hi Cher:

If the low coolant light is on and the radiator is full then the low coolant levle sensor module on the right side of thate radiator is bad. as for the check engine light it can be on for a lot of reasons without knowing what the code is in the systme I can't tell you what's wrong.. stop by one of the big box autoparts stores and have then scan the car for codes most of them do it for free once you know what the code is you can go from there. It will give you a starting point. good luck :)
