Pontiac Repair: PowerSteering Pump, 1997 pontiac sunfire, pontiac sunfire

Question
I have a 1997 Pontiac sunfire and the power steering pump went out a few months ago and i ran it with out any fluid and finally the pump internals shattered and now the pulley is loose and cant run it and i cant afford to get a new pump for it so I'm wandering if i take a belt from a 1997 2.2 sunfire with no ac and put it on a 1997 sunfire 2.2 with no power steering pump will it work out since i cant find a belt anywhere for a 1997 sunfire 2.2 with out power steering?

Answer
it might but even a belt without A/C would still be set up for the length of a power steering belt, best you could really do is take the belt to a parts store and buy several that are shorter, try installing them till you find one that fits without the power steering pump.  Sorry I could not be of more help, they just do not make cars without power steering for safety reasons.  ALso i might note that the car is going to be very difficult to turn at low speeds due to the power steering gear is not set up to operate without line pressure, best of luck>
