Pontiac Repair: heater damaged from attempted theft, pontiac dealer, pontiac grand am

car broken into,person tried to steal radio/cd player,in the process broke the selector knob that lets you defrost or put onto which vent you want,it blows air but doesnt get warm for the heater,evidently person was interrupted and wasnt able to get radio out,car is a 2001 pontiac grand am se,4 door,engine size is 2.4 L twin cam.how do i fix this? what do i do ?,dont have much money.help would be very much appreciated

some of the heater control head you can replace just the knobs on I don't think you can on this car however The knobs are part of thye control head so you will need a new control head assembly I belive... I'm not a parts guy I just fix 'em your best bet it to call you local Pontiac dealer and see if the knobes are replaceable.. The other thing about it is if the knob is replaceable on this car did the stem the knob presses onto get broken off along with the knob? It it still there or did it breal off in the knob?
