Pontiac Repair: 95 sunfire no spark, no injection pulse,, crank sensor, gm dealer


Question
i have a 95 sunefire 2.2l auto. i am not get spark, no injection pulse, and no fuel pump prime. on the spark, ohmed out the coil and there good, tested the ignition module and it was good, ohmed the crank sensor and it was good. put it all back together and pulled connector at ecm and made a ground pulse on the two ignition output wires and got spark. on the injection, i tested for power to the pink on injectors and i got power. checked for noid and nothing. on fuel pump, check relay and it was good. put power to fuel test connector and i have fuel pump. but when i turn the key to the on position i am not getting fuel pump prime. if i put power on the fuel pump control wire, i hear the relay and the fuel pump working. i have a new ignition switch and crank sensor. no VATS system on the car. i am thinking computer since i am getting all signals and power at the computer connectors.

well it can be a computer. The fact that you get no fule pump prime at key on is a clue that the computer is not doing what it should. do you live in the rust belt area of the country? There was a recallfor this car back in the day for a corrosion issue with the engine computer. the computer and or the connectors for the computer had a issue with water conneting in them and rotting out the components. the recall was for a new computer repair connectors if needed and add a water defelctor. Call a GM dealer and give them the VIN# and see if the recall was ever done on this car If not it could be a free repair if you live in the affected parts of the country. Good luck :)
