QUESTION: 1997 gtp.3800 supercharger.drivers side blows hotter than pass side.drivers side actuator makes a noise when moving.it will move back & forth adjusting.i believe what ever controls it is screwed up.this is adual control system.ive checked freon /actuators.temp reading constant for inside /outside temps does not flash.

ANSWER: Most of the time the issues with these are the temp acatuators. the electric motors that run the temp door go bad. usually that's alla that go bad with the system in that car. If you change the acatuator make sure you pull out the fuse for the HVAC control head and let it sit for a minute or 2 then put the fuse back in to clear out the memory in the control head then cycle the head from from full cold to full hot on both sides.

QUESTION: about 1 yr ago we had a lightning strike in front of my house ,at this point the a/c wouldnt come on,i took it to my mech,he believed the computer wasnt sending a ground to turn the compressor on,so he jumpered a ground where it stays on all the time,i replaced the computer but it didnt fix it.again the freon level is good.any ideas where to start troubleshooting?any codes in c head to check? thanks again todd any help would be greatly apprieciated

Answer
It's hard to say what the issue is without seeing it. all the control modules in this car communicate with each other. If the HVAC control head does recognize the a/c button press then it will not send a a/c request signal to the engine module. In turn if the HVAC module sees the button press but doesn't send the signal out same thing. The engine computer can see the a/c request signal but not allow for compressor operation. With out a true scan tool not a code rearer it's impossably to tell you what the problem here is. You need to see the data that the control modules are receiving and sending out to find out where the problem is. Good luck:)
