Pontiac Repair: power door, fuse block, wd 40

Question
I just bought a 1999 Montana. The power sliding door only works some of the time, and when it does work it doesn't always shut all the way. Any ideas on how to fix it cheap?

Answer
Hi Dustin:

well ther are a few this that could be wrong with this and only one thing that the do it your selfer can do. open the door and the pins that extend out of the door towards the bootom and the pad that they contact on the "B" Pillar corrode. sue some VERY fine sand paper and clean any corrosion of the pins and the contactor pad. Then apply a very thin coat of dielectric grease on tyhe pins and the contactor pad. Use a spray like wd-40 on the sliding door latches at the front and rear esdes of the door. Then close the door. open the hood and take the radio fuse out of the underhood fuse block for a minute. then reinstall the fuse. turn the power sliding door override switch off in the overhead console and open and close the door fully 2 times. then turn the door back on and see it it works. If so Great If not ther may be an issue with the control module for the door or the motor assembly for the door. Good luck :)
