Pontiac Repair: steering, resivoir, cold line

Question
do you have to bleed power steering lines after it runs out of fluid and you fill it back up. as i had a crack in the line and replaced it?

Answer
yes it is a good idea to bleed the system, as there will be air trapped in it.  Easiest way is to lift the front tires off the ground, fill the resivoir to the cold line, then leave the cap off, turn the wheels 12-15 times lock to lock, check fluid, wait for bubbles to go away, fill to the hot line and start it up.
