There is a service bulletin about this concern on that van. I was sort of thinking that is what you were asking about. it's a cheap fix. there is a bolt that goes into the rear of the alternator that has to be replaced. There is an issue with an insulation problem between the alternator and the volatge regulator inside the alternator. Any chevy,Pontiac dealer should be able to opder the part you need to fix the van up. If you talk to the right person there they may be ale to print you off a copy of the bulletin I'm talking about The bulletin # is 01-06-03-005.
