Pontiac Repair: Driver door power window 2002 Pontiac Montana, pontiac montana, passenger mirror

Question
I had my 2002 Montana detailed today .When I picked it up I lowered the
driver window and it would not close. It moved three or four times then nothing.
I take good care of it and want to keep it. What can I expect to be the cause and cost to repair? How does the switch
console on door disassemble? the mirror
switch is loose and the passenger mirror will only move vertically remotely
Thanks for any advice  E.L.Wilson

Answer
Hey Ellis:

well it can be the switch but most of the time it's not. The window regulator assemblies go bad in these vans all the time the window starts to go up crroked and the circuit breaker in the motor cuts out and the window will not move. Not to say the switch isn't bad but most of the time it not. The bezel the switch is in just snapps into the door panel. A small flat blade screw driver will unlatch the retainers and the bezel will pull out of the door panel. once it's out you can cange the mirrior switch as well. If the driver mirrior works in all positions and the passenger one doesn't then  it's not likely a switch it's a wring issue or the mirrior motor is bad. if both mirriors will not move int the same position it's the switch that's bad. Good luck :)
