Auto Insurance Claims: Unlicensed driver driving another persons insured vehicle, unlicensed driver

Question
If an unlicensed driver is at fault in an accident while driving another persons insured and licensed vehicle, will the insured persons insurance cover property and medical expenses?

Answer
Yes.  Whether or not a person has a license or not is usually not a factor in whether or not insurance applies.  It is about whether or not the unlicensed driver had permission to drive the vehicle or not.  In rare instances there could be an endorsement on a policy that excludes coverage if the owner allows an unlicensed driver to operate the vehicle, but that is rare.  The only other issue would be if the unlicensed driver was specifically excluded from the policy.  I hope this helps!
