Pontiac Repair: ac, newer cars, stop leak

Question
I have a 98 gran prix..I have charged the ac 2 times now and added a can of stop leak and and florescent dye. The ac blowed cold for 7 days both times then it gets warm. I have not seen any indications of dye anywhere, nor have I smelled any kinds of fumes inside the car. My question to you is......where do I go from here?

Answer
Hi Larry:

First off that stop leak stuff doesn't work and on some newer cars can actually damage the system. If you don't see any leak from the dye then the leak is in an inconspicuous spot. If you live in the rusat belt like I do look on the lower corners of the condenser. If you don't see anything there the the evaporator would be the last place to look Nad that is a BIG job and they don't go bad on these car that often. Also look around the compressor at the pulley and the compressor body. Good luck :)
