Pontiac Repair: 97 grand am heater core, drain spout, leak water

Ok I've got the two halfs separated. Bottom half does not want to let go of the firewall. I removed the drain boot but the drain spout is connected to the lower half and I can't seem to pull it through the firewall. Please help!

Hi Steven:

This is a TIGHT fit to get it out.. Make sure you have all the screws out of the case there are a few one that are not in plain sight. Also if you take the center console out of the car it will give you the extra room you need to get the bottom half of the heater case out.. There is no special trick to get it out it's pretty straight forward. Do not fore it or you will break the bottom half and it will the leak water when the A/C is on. Good luck :)
