Pontiac Repair: pontiac 1991 grand prix se 3.1 v6, crankshaft position sensor, ring seal

How do I remove the crankshaft position sensor does it pull out in any position or is there a notch that you have to line up then pull.

Hi Peter:

No it just pulles striaght out of the side of the block. Being that it's as old as it is Ther is more than likley a build up of sludge and the o-ring seal on the sensor is bloated. try spraying carb cleaner around the sesnor and work it back and forth in and out GENTLY You do not wnat to break it off in the block! Also a good penetrating fluid like PB Blaster may work as well. good luck:)
