Pontiac Repair: Broken ABS Sensor, 97 Pontiac Transport., brake rotor, pontiac transport

I have noticed the ABS Sensor has broken loose on the passenger side front wheel.The wire into the hub has broken off. Is it easy to replace? It looks as if the mounting plate is mising.Also the ABS light is on all the time.Thanks

Hi Jim:

The wiring is part of the sensor. The sensor is part of the hub. It's not to bad of a job. You have to remobe the barke caliper and brake rotor. Then remobe the nut that holds the axkle shaft to the hub and then remove the 3 bolts that hold the hub to the steering knuckle. The mounting bracket you mentioned is a heat shield that gose between the hub and the knuckle. The harness for the speed sensor will clip onto that shiled. the shiled is going to be a dealer only part. Good Luck :)
