Pontiac Repair: 1995 Pontiac Firebird, pontiac firebird, expansion plugs

Question
Where are the freeze plugs located on a 1995 Pontiac Firebird 3.4 L v6?

Answer
Hi Kim:

They are located along both sides of the engine block and in the rear of the engine behind the flywheel. The ones on the sides of the block are not to bad to change the ones in the rear are! In order ro change them the transmission has to be removed to gain access to change them. There are "quick fix" plugs you can use on the sides of the engine they are a rubber plug with a nut in the middle of them those are expansion plugs when you tighted the nut it expands the plug in the block to seal it up. It' not a long term fix but in a pinch they work okay. Good luck :)
