Pontiac Repair: 1996 Pontiac Sun Fire, cigarette lighter, sun fire

The cigarette lighter stopped working. Is it easily repaired or do I need to bite the bullet and take it to a mechanic?

Hi there:

well first off check to see if the fuse blew more than likely that's what happened. I think the fuse is labeled "cigar" if that's not it the element usually goes bad. which is the part that acatully heat up. do not get a fits all goto the dealer and get the right part for the car. They are pretty cheap. good luck :)
