Question
the high beam headlights are not working .the drls indicator flash,s on in the dash and the wrench service light comes on.checked the light bulbs ,they are ok.checked the multifunction switch ,that is ok also .with the headlight bulbs unplugged there is power on 1 side.with the bulbs plugged in there is power on both sides .this has all happened after the car sat all summer .

Hi Brad:

This is a VERY common issue with these cars. It has one or more splices in the forward lamp harness that has corroded. ther are 4 or 5 splice connections in the front lamp harness on that car that water gets into the harness and corrodes the splices. On that car the multi function headlamp switch supplies ground to the bulbs in stead of conevtional cars where the switch supples power. Your going to have to take the harness out of the car and start hunting for the splice that's bad. most likely the ones that are bad are in the harness under the left headlamp and behind the washer bottle. Good luck :) just make sure when your looking for the problem you don't create another one by skinning the insulation off the good wires.
