Pontiac Repair: turn sgnal, turn signal switch, pontiac grand prix

we have a 1993 pontiac grand prix le. 3.1 liter engine. the turn signal lights stay on . why is this happening? everything else is fine.

is the lamp on constantly or does it flash constantly? If it's just on steady it can be a few things from a stuck on flasher element or maybe a bulb that blew out the the filiment from the parking lamp is touching the turn signal on. but that would only happen whne the headlamps are on. and it's a bit odd for that to happen but it does. My guess is if it's on steady the falsher is just bad. If it keeps on flashing I'd lean towards the turn signal switch.
