Pontiac Repair: 2001 Pontiac GrandAM 3.4 V6, pontiac grandam, squeel

Question
My car makes a squealing noise when I begin to accelerate. Also it does not shift properly. Going up a hill instead of shifting it bogs down even if I have the pedal to the floor.
Do you have any idea what it could be.

Answer
hi joseph:

Well the squeeking could be the belt or something that the belt is driving is making the belt squeel. What ever it is it could be binding up and make the engine feel like it's not running right like an a/c compressor or alternator. As for the trasnmission without driving it and feeling the condition I can't tell you for sure what the issue may be. you could have something as simple as a fuel filter that is plugged and making the engine bog down and it would also be reated to the first part of your question. Not the squeel but the lack of power. Good luck :)
