Chevrolet Repair: Catalytic Converter, battery booster, berrymans

Question
Thanks Van, I will try this out.
Yesterday I went to check out the vehicle a little closer. I connected a battery booster to it and got the audible alarm. I checked for grounding and found the positive side grounded to the chassis. Where should I begin searching for this short. This van has sat(not driven for over two years).
Anything you suggest I surely take a look at?
Thank you for your help.

Hello Van,
My brother has a 95 Lumina minivan that has sat for awhile.
He stated that the catalytic converter needs replacing. Could a clogged converter cause the engine not to start at all?
Thanks

Hi Chris,
No, I sincerely doubt it could do that.
Probably dirty varnished gas plugging the injectors.
If the fuel pump is running in the fuel tank for a few seconds after turning the key to run, I would pour some Berrymans injector cleaner in the tank, and cycle the key to run several times, with hopes it will pump some cleaner thru the injectors.
The pump will only run for two to three seconds each cycle. Then you need to turn it off, and maybe even wait a few seconds. Just listen to the pump, and cycle accordingly.

Answer
I don't recall saying anything about a short. I just wanted you to circulate some injector cleaner thru the fuel system. That is why you will need to cycle the key several times.

And connect a good battery to it. Don't crank it with a battery booster/charger.
