Pontiac Repair: 1997 grandprix gtp, stop screw, maf sensor

Question
Thanks for your help, first, car start and idle for 2 to 4 seconds and quit, the code was a PO102, so I replaced the MAF sensor, ran better for a day or two then back like it was, so I relaced the IAC, no improvement, you can pat the gas several times and it will idle, but when you cut the engine off ,and start it again it will run a few seconds and quit again. Thanks again Tim

Answer
Hi Tim:

with out the aid of a scan tool to see what is going on with this it's hard to say for sure what the issue is. You could have an issue with the control to the idle control motor one of the drivers for that motor may be bad in the computer, Doubtful but it does happen. You can keep throwing parts at this and hope one of thme is the problem but it's an expensive way to try to fix it. Some one may have messed with the idle stop screw on this and that could be effecting the idle. Again with out seeing what it's doing it hard to say for sure what the problem is.
