Pontiac Repair: Drivers Window Off Track, crank handle, pontiac grand am

1998 Pontiac Grand Am SL 3.1  How do you remove the manual window crank
handle so can adjust or repair the window channel?  We have searched and
searched for a pin, or clip with no success. The handle has to be removed in
order to do the repair.

Hey Dayle:

there is a special tool that is needed to remove the clip that hold the handle onto the window regulator. It'a flat tool with a slot cut into it that when placed flat against the door panel and pushed in behind the crank handle will push off the clip from the handle. They sell it all kinds of "good" parts stores and they are cheap just a few bucks. I can tell you if the window is off track the window regulator will need to be replaced. the regulators bend up and then the windows are cocked inside the run channels for the glass. The window regulator is more thank likey a dealer only part or you can try e-bay. There is a company called something like A-1 automotive they sell all kinds of aftermarket parts.. Good luck :}
