Pontiac Repair: Relays?, Grand Am electrical issues.

Question
I have a '95 Grand Am coupe 3.0(or.1)V6. periodically the power windows and blower motor stop working accompanied with the ABS light on the dash, everything resets when the motor is turned off and restarted. The windows however, are not always so accommodating and had stopped working until the voltage was removed from their circuit breakers and restored. The manual I have seems to lack the exact information and location of the relays I wish to check.

Answer
Hey Tim:

Well a few things as for the windows you could have a power window switch that's gon bad like the express down part of the switch is sticking on the down position that is for the left front window only. The ckt. breaker for the windows is in the fuse lock on the left side of the dash. Also each window motor has a tehermal breaker in it as well if the window regulators are bad and the window motor has to work hard to raise or lower the glass the motor's breaker will cut out. as for the other issues you have you either have a power or ground problem. that care is noted for bad ground connections on and under the battery tray for the (-) ground issues. Also look at the battery cables if the battery is leaking acid into the cables you will have all kinds of wierd issues. As for power (+) problems that car was alos noted for ignition switch problmes where the contact in the switch would arch and casue high reistance in the power feeds to the fuse. If you have an issue where the laternator is starting to go bad where it's not putting out enough amperage or voltage it will cause a bunch of issues too. Good luck :}
