Pontiac Repair: 2001 door panels, phillips head screws, power window switch

Question
I have a 2001 pontiac grand am se with power windows and locks. 3 of my window motors broke within the last 6 mo. If you could please tell me on how to properly remove the front and rear door panels. THANK YOU

Answer
Hi Dennis:

Front and rear panels come off the same way except for the front panels have an extra piece by where the mirror is. remove the red reflector ther is a scre behind that remove that. remove the power window switch ther is a screw under the switches. there is a screw in the arm rest also. they are #3 phillips head screws. once they are all out use a flat blade screw driver between the panel and the door and gently pry it away from the door. start at the bottom and work your way around the panel untill it's free from the door then just gently lift the panle off the door. If this is the left front door ther is an electrical connetor on the trunk release button that has to be unplugged before you get the panle comnpletly off the door.
