Pontiac Repair: Temperature gauge not working, pontiac grand prix, temperature gauge

I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. I noticed today that my temperature gauge is not working. Upon starting the car the gauge goes through it's normal sweep, yet doesn't rise while driving. Any suggestions?

How does the car run? If the car runs okay I would venture to say the issue would be with the gauge it's self. The reason I ask that is because the temp sensor for the gauge is the same one for the engine control computer. That sensor is a main input to the computer. If that sesnor was bad the car would run wierd especially on a cold start or when up to operating temp. The gauge is party of the insterment cluster assembly and is not serviced by it's self.
