Question
suddenly when i drove my car, when it would change gears it would knock really hard and loud and jolt forward.  Could this be my transmission?  Would this happen suddenly with no for warning?  thanks!!

Answer
Hi Jamie:

yes it can happen. These transmission in these cars are electronically operated/shifted. The loud noise may be from the engine reving up high due to the transmission staying in a low gear. The noise could be from the transmission also.. Has any service engine light come on? The issue may not be with the transmission. It could be a sensor on the engine that is bad and not allowing the transmission to shift properly. This is something that has to be looked at by trained person on these cars. A transmission shop like a Ammco or continental may not be your best bet for getting this fixed right. The dealer is you best bet to get it diagnosed first and then decide what to do with it. Good luck :)
