Pontiac Repair: 4t60e trans, piston seal, pontiac transport

I have 95 pontiac transport the transmission will not go directly into reverse or drive it takes a little time after in gear trans works normal after it is left sit for a while same thing

Hi Willaim:

first off check tyhe fluid level and condition if it's full then you have an internal failure in the transmission. more than liley a ripped or leaking piston seal in one of the clutch assemblied in the transmission. You may want to try one of those mechanic in a can remedies at the auto parts store but sooner rater than later it's going to need to be take out and tron down to find the issue with it. look for a product that says on the can swells leaking seals.
